What is Quantum Computing ?

Short bio:

Rafael Tiedra is an AI and Data Science specialist, mathematician, and lecturer based in Geneva, Switzerland. He works at the Office Cantonal des Systèmes d'Information et du Numérique (OCSIN) on projects in AI, Data Science and Quantum Computing. With a background in Physics and Mathematics, he has authored 40+ scientific publications and delivered 150+ presentations worldwide. Rafael Tiedra has held academic positions at the universities of Paris-Sud, Cergy-Pontoise, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and EPFL.


Résumé:

In this presentation, I will outline what Quantum Computing is and why it is important for public administrations and IT organisations to prepare for it. I will also present a simple algorithm executed on a real quantum computer, and review some of the quantum initiatives undertaken by the State of Geneva (OCSIN).
