 The experience I have gained as an expert and a convenor in various standardisation committees has enabled me to both understand and highlight the problems related to the specificity (and the complexity) of the whole standardisation process. This has given me an insight into the extent to which KE-based approaches can be used for standards drafting : KE-based methods applied to the process of standards drafting rely on the identification and/or development of ontologies corresponding to the domains of knowledge of the technical standards to be considered for the new standard.
