RADAR  IMAGING

ADAPTIVE  APERTURE  IMAGING

This approach is based on the matching of antenna aperture with the image spatial spectrum directly during radar imaging. The typical image and its spatial spectrum are shown below. One can observe the directions of the principal image components due to the specific orientation of edges and textures in the image.

The goal is to estimate the directions of principal image spatial spectrum components based on small size aperture H1 and then to adopt the geometry of array H2 to the above directions.  Image restoration algorithm  performs the final image reconstruction based on the image g1 obtained by the small size antenna and g2 obtained by the adaptive aperture antenna array.
