Debate: signature e-collecting
I am participating this week to a public debate organised by the State of Geneva and the Maison Internationale des Associations, about the electronic caption of signatures for referendum and initiative. Here is a translation of the summary:
Swiss direct democracy is evolving in the digital age. With the introduction of /e-Collecting/, the electronic collection of signatures for initiatives and referendums, new opportunities are opening up to strengthen citizen participation. But how can transparency, security and equal access be guaranteed? This round table offers a discussion between political, technical and associative actors on cantonal experiences, in order to reflect together on the conditions for implementation that truly serve democracy.
