Smart Mobility: an Anthropology of Smartphone Usage

Abstract:

The iPhone is 10 years old and it might be a good time to reflect on the way smartphones usage have influenced everyday life. Based on an empirical research conducted in Geneva, Los Angeles and Tokyo, this presentation will describe to what extent this device pervades everyday life and allows us to question the evolution of any objects around us.

Short Bio:

Nicolas Nova is an ethnographer and design researcher, working both as a Professor at the Geneva School of Arts and Design (HEAD – Genève) and as co-founder of The Near Future Laboratory.
