With Dr. Patrick Genoud, Observatoire technologique of the State of Geneva

Abstract:

The impact of digital technologies on our daily lives is in most of cases not reflected in the dynamics of large organizations. Despite several experiments with new technologies or social media, these organizations generally do not adapt their processes, management style or business models to effectively take into account the corresponding paradigm change.

The public sector is equally facing these challenges. At the Observatoire technologique we try to grab the opportunities offered by digital technologies as drivers to reboot our administration. Through some concrete examples we will show how some projects can engage people far beyond the set-up of new technologies. Key words in this context will be co-creation, experiment, service design and openness.

Short Bio:

Patrick Genoud is working for the Observatoire technologique of the State of Geneva since 2001. As a strategic planner he is involved in evaluating the impact of digital technologies and their use on the public sector. With a global and a societal perspective he aims at grabbing the corresponding opportunities offered both for the citizen and for the administration. His current domains of interest mainly concern open data, co-creation and innovation.
