Personal Data Protection : principles and examples

Abstract:

Personal data protection is under heavy scrutiny as legal frameworks are being revised around the world to meet the new privacy challenges the Internet has introduced. After introducing the issues, this talk reviews the major principles behind personal data protection before engaging the audience in a case study.

Short Bio:

Mrs Anne Catherine Salberg is Geneva deputy commissioner for data protection and transparency since 2010. She holds a degree in law from University of Geneva and a diploma in development studies . She also holds a European master in negotiation. She was program director at Groupement Pro-Médiation and independent negotiator until 2009.
